Learn essential skills in 3D design and manufacturing, from CAD modelling to material selection and technical documentation.
Enquire nowKey Information
The 3D Design and Manufacture Micro-credential helps learners to build the skills and knowledge required to prepare, create, and produce components using CAD and CAM technologies for manufacturing processes.
Learners will learn how to prepare and set up the environments, use the CAD system to prepare drawings and models, and the CAM system to create code files to then produce manufacturing outputs.
3D Design and Manufacture incorporates elements of project lifecycle management as the learners build a project from concept to physical prototype (using a 3D printer), as well as materials selection and technical documentation.
Breakdown of the Course/Module
In this unit we will examine producing components using CAD and CAM technologies in detail including:
- Drawing a computer aided design (CAD)
- Computer aided manufacturing
- Additive / Subtractive manufacturing
- WHS-CAM Operations
- 3D Modelling
- Apply project lifecycle management processes
- Select common engineering materials
- Produce and manage technical documentation.
